About Ubuntu Rising Scholars Program (URSP)

Preparing Global Scholars for Competitive Global Opportunities

The Ubuntu Rising Scholars Program (URSP) is a premier global mentorship, leadership, and academic development initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of talented students through access to world-class educational opportunities. Founded by Festus Cobena Ainoo on the African philosophy of Ubuntu — “I Am Because We Are” — URSP believes that individual success is deeply connected to collective growth. We are building a global community of scholars, mentors, educators, and changemakers committed to expanding educational access, nurturing leadership, and creating lasting social impact across the world. At URSP, we recognize that brilliance exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Every year, countless talented students are unable to pursue their academic dreams due to limited access to mentorship, information, networks, and resources. URSP was created to bridge that gap. Through intensive training, personalized mentorship, and a supportive global network, we equip ambitious undergraduate, master's, and doctoral applicants with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to compete successfully for admission into leading universities and fully funded academic opportunities worldwide.

Our comprehensive program prepares scholars in every stage of the application journey, including:

  • University and program selection

  • Scholarship and funding strategy

  • Academic and professional CV development

  • Statement of Purpose and personal statement writing

  • Faculty outreach and networking

  • Standardized test preparation guidance

  • Recommendation letter strategy

  • Application review and refinement

  • Visa interview preparation

  • Cultural transition and success planning

URSP builds upon a proven legacy of impact. Through the collective efforts of our leadership team, coordinators, mentors, and alumni, we have supported thousands of students in accessing international educational opportunities, including more than three thousand successful F-1 visa recipients. Today, we continue to expand our reach, serving scholars across countries, disciplines, and backgrounds.

More than an admissions preparation program, URSP is a movement. We are cultivating future researchers, innovators, educators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who will use their education to solve pressing global challenges and uplift others along the way. By combining excellence, mentorship, community, and purpose, URSP is creating pathways for the next generation of global scholars to thrive and lead.
