The Ubuntu Rising Scholars Program was founded by Festus Cobena Ainoo with a simple yet powerful conviction: talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Having witnessed countless brilliant students across Africa and other underrepresented regions struggle to access life-changing educational opportunities, not because of a lack of ability, but because of limited information, mentorship, and institutional access, he envisioned a program that would bridge this gap. URSP was created to ensure that exceptional scholars are no longer defined by the circumstances of their birth, but by the strength of their potential, ambition, and aspirations.
At its core, URSP exists to dismantle the invisible barriers that prevent talented students from reaching the world's leading universities. More than helping students gain admission abroad, URSP is building a generation of leaders, researchers, innovators, and changemakers who will return their knowledge, skills, and experiences to transform their communities, strengthen their nations, and contribute to solving some of the world's most pressing challenges.
