Portia Opoku
Portia Opoku is a higher education and student affairs professional with a growing interest in the ethical application of artificial intelligence to enhance student engagement, leadership education, and institutional practice. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at the University of Connecticut, where she serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Leadership Learning Community, coordinating leadership programs, teaching first-year seminar courses, and supporting student transition and belonging initiatives.
Portia holds a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, and has experience in teaching, student mentorship, research assistance, and student leadership. Her work is driven by a commitment to improving student experiences through thoughtful leadership, research-informed practice, and responsible innovation, with a focus on fostering inclusive and supportive learning environments.
